SparkCon Planning Site

Info resource and tracking for organizers

IdeaSPARK 2008

The energy is building and the ideas are beginning to shape up! Aly and I met with Teresa Spangler yesterday to talk about possibilities for this years ideaSPARK

Some general thinking included having an “unconference” format for many short workshops session (1hr?). Each would focus on a Spark – and be seeded with organizers to give them a chance to brainstorm their areas of interest. Teresa suggested sprinkling creative “spurs” through the workshop to make things more stimulating. Since it will be just outside of the streetpaiting festival- maybe the street art can actually reflect the topic or even entice people to join each topic.
Next we plan to meet with Heather Hesketh and see how to build off of her concept of a Triangle “bar-camp”  and create a compelling tech conference for the area.

We also discussed how we can diversify SparkCon’s involvement with our surrounding area. There are a lot of festivals, events, and local businesses that operate in our backyard and it would great to bring them into the SparkCon phenomenon by employing Capital Area Transit (CAT) to transport SparkCon attendees to these locations like Centerfest, Kokabooth, etc. Ideas?
