Slims and storySPARK come together
Last week, Greg was meandering around downtown on his bike littering business’ with SPARKcon postcards and talking with anyone who wanted to learn more about what is going on.
He stopped in at Slims hoping to talk with somebody about getting their support for musicSPARK. Luckily Joe Yerry was posted up at the bar with his paper and cigarette, enjoying the early Wednesday evening. It didn’t take much for Joe to agree to do whatever! Greg described the storytellers concept that Billy and Greg Behr were hoping to host at Slims on the Friday night of SPARKcon, and Joe was very interested. He has already booked Kenny Roby for the storyteller’s session, and is working hard with storySPARK to seek out and book other acts. There might even be a chance that the Slims comedy crew make an appearance!
For Saturday nights events, Joe will definitely be looking to book some local talent. He even volunteered his band, The Bleeding Hearts to play! Incidently, they have a new CD out called “Nothin’ on But the Radio” and it is worth checking out. Joe is super supportive of SPARKcon and was very happy to get involved with the event. A huge thanks goes out Joe and the guys at Slims.
