gamingSPARK? meeting 6/23/09
Megan Wood has suggested bringing a new element to SPARKcon that would include digital gaming. Given the rich talent pool for creating these games locally, it seems like an idea with merit. Rob Ruchte and Aly discussed some options with Megan.
The event may involve having one space (preferably on Fayetteville Street) that will have numerous computer / gaming consoles set up to showcase some of the latest local work going on in gaming. One featured game may be projected into a storefront window.
Other ideas included having a presentation on the game design process.
Right now our biggest concern is connecting Megan with other people excited about this component, and having them join the planning group. Next meeting is tentatively scheduled for July 9, 6:30 pm at Humble Pie.
I would like to attend – and help push gameSPARK forward. I think this is a great!

I’ve spoken with a local video game marketing specialist who’s interested as well… Megan could you please reach out to me to let me know if the Humble Pie date is firm?
Thursday July 9th at Humble Pie is confirmed for gamingSPARK. I will be bringing a guest that has offered her assistance, though it may be limited pending a move this summer.
