GamingSPARK meeting mins 7/30/09
Got together at Foundation on 7/30/09
In Attendance:
Christy White, Troy Knight, Aly Khalifa, and Megan Wood
Note:
Greetings and Introductions
Megan briefed new members about GamingSPARK and what it hopes to bring to the gamut of Spark events, and the progress made since the last meeting.
Informed group of possible location, and the appointment set with Salley Alley to look at the Urban Design Center.
Everyone really needs to hit up all of their contacts and try to get submissions.
We are about 90% sure about having a TV sponsored as a give away prize to the winner of the tournament.
We need to comprise a wish list of all the things we are going to need and get it to Aly.
For our outgoing newsletters and flyers, make sure we have all graphics preapproved by Britt and Beth.
Discussed the possibility of having a spokesperson there from each school to answer questions on their design and gaming courses.
TGI will have a desk set up with someone there to accept applications and answer any questions that people may have.
Troy is going to work on creating a loop highlighting all of the entries submitted, and the acquirement of a TV for the loop. (I thought maybe we could use the TV that we are giving away)
Submit a picture of gamers playing in a tournament so that Aly can include it in a presentation at the Kick Off Party and IdeaSpark.
We will continue to brainstorm about ways to improve the tournament to include the walk ups, keep the pace moving quickly to insure the highest volume of gameplay. I would like to get someone from Epic as an additional portion of the tournament so that people can “beat Epic at it’s own game”
Christy will handle the mobile portion and the flyers/printouts for the event.
Next meeting set for Thursday 8/13/09 and we’ll make it 7:00 this time. Due to the parking situation last time, lets move this one to The Borough. After office hours, the parking deck across The Borough (Dawson side) is free to the public.
